Fire Suppression Test in Naples Hangar

BUILD LLC is currently constructing a hangar at the Naples Municipal Airport and as part of the inspection process a fire suppression test had to be administered. Fire suppression systems are specialized systems that often work in conjunction with a fire alarm system for the safety and protection of an area or building. 

This test entails quick expanding foam, made of water and concentrate, which fills the space up to six feet in a matter of minutes. Distributed by Ansul, the foam is typically used in environments containing highly flammable materials and liquids, it smothers fuels and other substances so that oxygen is unable to feed the fire. Shown below is a video of the process, in the end (not shown) the foam is pouring out of the openings of the building. It is quite the experience!

Renovation Complete at Pelican Marsh Golf Club

BUILD recently completed a renovation at Pelican Marsh Golf Club in Naples, Florida. Designed by McWard Architects and Wegman Design Group, the clubhouse underwent an addition and complete remodel to the main and private dining rooms, entry lobby, men's and women's lounge and locker rooms.

BUILD Wins Sand Dollar Award For Best Office

This past Saturday BUILD was presented with an award for Best Office/Commercial Park at the annual Sand Dollar Awards banquet by the Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA), which recognizes excellence in the building industry.

BUILD was recognized for the interior office renovation for Synergy Suites located off Pine Ridge Road. Two suites on the second floor of an existing building offers 9 private offices, 6 open desks, two conference rooms, cafe lounge and a reception area.

The owner's vision was to create a unique, shared office environment that would allow for creativity and collaboration as well as house his own office. He wanted to take a different angle of approaching an office layout, therefore in the design of the space HLevel Architects played with the term "angle" and created 10-degree angled walls throughout the space. To maximize ceiling heights and celebrate the existing exposed concrete, a perimeter drywall dropped soffit houses the HVAC and most of the electrical work leaving the concrete unblemished. To entice like-minded companies to the space he wanted to play upon his Austrian design roots and have minimal detailing white celebrating the existing structure.

The Sand Dollar Awards, the highest accolades given by the Sales and Marketing Council of the CBIA are presented annually to members who have demonstrated building, design and marketing excellence in the Collier County area. The awards are presented to the winners as a result of judging by experts from across the state of Florida.

BUILD Renovates Practice Yoga in Naples

A renovation to Practice Yoga in Naples, Florida was completed by BUILD LLC.  This tenant improvement included new flooring, acoustical ceiling tiles and paint throughout the space. New walls were put up to create a separation between the offices and the yoga studio which now encompasses three separate studios.

An ADA bathroom was implemented complete with modern cabinetry and plumbing fixtures. The interior and exterior doors were replaced as well as updated electrical and HVAC. A folding partition wall was installed to separate the space thus creating more intimate yoga classes.

Practice Yoga is a yoga studio that offers a wide variety of classes appropriate for all levels, including Power Vinyasa, Align and Yin. The studio also offers regular workshops and teacher trainings.

BUILD Completes North Collier Culver's

BUILD has completed its fifth Culver's in SW Florida, this latest one at the corner of Immokalee Road and Collier Boulevard. Designed by Castellanos + Tramonte Architects, this 4,190 square foot chain restaurant was completed with a full-service kitchen, drive thru, dining area and restrooms all tailored to the specific Culver's franchise requirements.

Culver's is a fast-casual restaurant chain founded in 1984 in Sauk City, Wisconsin. Culver's is known for their local butterburgers, fresh frozen custard and Wisconsin cheese curds.

BUILD has expanded the Fit & Fuel Cafe located in the Pavilion shopping plaza in Naples. Fit & Fuel Cafe offers a rustic urban style and is now connected to Naples Cyclery. The interior expansion doubles the size of the cafe and includes a 32' concrete bar top, indoor and outdoor seating.

What To Look For When Hiring a Builder

Are you looking to build or remodel your home? Trusting someone to handle one of your greatest assets is something you must take careful consideration when hiring a builder. Below are tips to assist with that decision.

• Make sure the builder has a good reputation with local banks and suppliers/subcontractors. 
• Determine how long they have been in the construction business. 
• Ask for referral from previous customers. 
• Ask to see their work, both completed and in progress. Check for quality of workmanship and materials.

Designed by Stofft Cooney Architects, this single-story structure provides storage for aircraft as well as housing office space. With a total square footage of 25,541 this upscale private hangar features an exterior with natural stone and metal cladding. The office featuring high end finishes provides a workplace for the pilot, maintenance staff and a comfortable luxury cafe for passengers. The hangar includes a state of the art foam fire suppression system.

Leonardi Architect, this four bedroom six bath three car residence offers 6,745 square feet under air. Upon entry, the view from the foyer showcases the outdoor amenities, a main focus in the home.
